About the Photographer

“My first camera was a Canon AE1 35mm in 1985 when I lived in Houston. Local bookstores provided me with Photography 101 and I progressed from there. Those books lined my bookshelf for many years providing me with answers to the art of photography.

The Houston landscape, especially the Houston skyline from Allen Parkway, were some of my initial pictures. From there, subjects like cars, portraits, animals and birds broadened my repertoire.

Camera technology advanced and so did my interest in advancing my equipment. The Olympus camera company had a niche in underwater camera housings to go along with my new Olympus XZ-1 for underwater photography. It was around 2011 that I paired the XZ-1 with an Olympus underwater housing for underwater photography.

All of my equipment has been Olympus since that time. Bird photography such as birds in flight(BIF) has been my most recent niche.

Texas is a photographers paradise with so many eco systems, sub climates and geography. It’s easy to do a day trip and target birds along the coast 365 days a year. It’s not unusual for me to wake up at 5am to be ready by first light to capture photos.

Beaches, sunsets/sunrises, ocean themes and landscapes are my interests also. There are many pictures from far away places to take you there through the lens.

I hope you enjoy what is my favorite pastime!”
